Polo is shornYesterday Polo was shorn for the first time.
It wasn't done by me as I haven't had any experience (1st or 2nd hand) and it is not the same method as shearing sheep.
The people we bought him from had organised the shearing day.
They have a shearing table the top of which is tilted vertically. He was harnessed to this and then the table top was returned to the normal horizontal position. His legs were immediately secured to two restraing posts to seperate them and then he was stretched out to limit his movement and also allow better access to his body. Myself or someone else held his head while this was all going on.
After he'd been shorn, he was 'nutted', as in made into a wether. It's the same procedure was done to the pigs.
He's looking more like a stick figure now with a bad toúpee.

E's an echidnaLinda spotted this fella in the shed a while ago, but he hadn't been caught on the camera before.
I spotted him this weekend and grabbed some snaps.
The metal bit near him, isn't really and it's a strap from the gutter he's hiding behind.
